What does a Podiatrist do?

Podiatry is the study, assessment and treatment of foot, ankle and lower limb conditions. The profession most commonly includes the treatment of those with nail and skin conditions and then those with musculoskeletal conditions that are causing pain or affecting mobility.

Referral and Working Together

We work alongside the medical community. At Podiatry Taupō we work with local and national GPs, Physios, Manual Therapists, Orthopedic Surgeons and Sport Physicians to be part of a wider treatment plan for the patient when necessary.

Foot Orthotics

Orthotic devices from Podiatry at Tōtara are customized innersoles that are inserted into a patient's shoe.
